"The Ride of a Lifetime"

We are proud and honored to invite your participation in The Al Humphrey Memorial Ride, a 25 kilometre ride through beautiful York Regional Forests, annually on the Sunday of the August long weekend.

Established in memory of Allan Stewart Humphrey (October 10, 1932 - February 2, 2006,) or as he was known to most "Al" of Al's Tack Shop, the ride provides an opportunity for the horse community at large to make a positive contribution to the lives of others by raising funds for deserving non-profit organizations. Recipient charities and/or organizations will be named on an annual basis.

We are asking for your help.

A grassroots event, the success of the ride is dependant on support from Ride Sponsors, Contributing Sponsors, Volunteers, Horses and Riders. All ride costs will be covered by sponsors and rider entry fees, all pledge monies raised will go directly to the beneficiary(s) of the ride. In whatever capacity you are able to participate, we welcome you.

During Al Humphrey's lifetime, many rides for many non-profit organizations benefited from the support and venue of Al's Tack Shop. Over a period of decades, hundreds of thousands of dollars and increased awareness of ride beneficiaries were raised through numerous rides hosted by Al's. We are so very proud to continue this tradition.

The heart and soul of the Al Humphrey Memorial Ride is its participants, whether through sponsorship, volunteering, or riding for pledges. The outpouring of support for this event has already far exceeded our expectations.

During his lifetime Al gave selflessly of himself in support of many deserving organizations and charities. It is in this spirit that the Al Humphrey Memorial Ride has been established. We sincerely thank you all for your enthusiasm and support.
